A Short Note On Eternity

Eternal does not mean "for all time"; it means "timeless".

Eternity is not forever. It is not some endless stretch of time, but is a condition utterly removed from time, in which it is impossible to conceive the concept of time as we know it.

The present moment is eternal. Not only is it without beginning or end, it is entirely lacking in duration. Yet, this lack is truly a fullness.

We who live in time, who see ourselves as formed in time, as souls created at a certain point in time, have difficulty imagining eternity, and the kingdom of heaven, in any other way than by imagining ourselves projected forward into immeasurable ages.

Enlightenment is the awareness that eternity is NOW.
