Every statement is an object of consciousness casting a shadow of unconsciousness, wherein secret questions abound. It is the job of the philosopher to play psychologist, as it were, with her own assertions, and to deconstruct the statements she feels compelled to make into a plethora of questions. Honesty is always a question. Nonetheless, every statement has its season, for the subtle is contained in the straight, and the one who knows it may say whatsoever she dares -- with a wink.
